Song Lyrics:

I’m still here

Music and lyrics by Max Soelzer

Max Soelzer / Vocal / Acoustic Guitar / Drums
Lucky Kelson / Piano / Bass Guitar / Strings Arrangement

Sometimes I feel just like a rolling stone
Many times I’ve found I’ve lost my way back home
In whom shall I trust and what’s behind that door
Is it really peace of mind that I’m looking for

I’m still here…
Trouble may come trouble my go this I know
In the blink of your eye time passes by time passes by

Been far too long out here on my own
It’s hard to see when you feel all alone
Though the time may be up and down
But through it all I thank God I’m still around

I’m still here…
Trouble may come trouble may go this I know
In the blink of your eye time passes by time passes by

There is a true way that you might not see
Only through faith are the possibilities
No more discord, envy and no more strife
I’ve found the way the truth and the life

I’m still here…

Song lyrics:

I believe

Music and lyrics by Max Soelzer

Max Soelzer / Vocal and back up Vocals / Guitars
Eric Soelzer / Drums
Lucky Kelson / Bass Guitar / Back up Vocals
Sandy Spivey / Saxophone

Dreams in colors visions in blue
Laughter in childlike wonder
When all things were brand new
Seeking the purpose
And the plans you have for me
It’s time to leave the shoreline
And sail upon the sea

I believe ( In the plans you have for me)
I believe ( In my destiny)

I know there’s more for me out there
Than may meet the eye
Pressing through in faith
I know that I must try
Time is more precious now
Never felt like this before
More questions than the answers
As to what I’m living for

I believe ( In the plans you have for me)
I believe ( In my destiny)

The ship is ready to set sail
With its eye upon the prize
So many stormy waters
I’ve come to realize
No more time to be wasted
In trying to comprehend
The hope that lies within you
And the places I’ve never been

I believe ( In the plans you have for me)
I believe ( In my destiny)

Song lyrics:

Freedom

Music and lyrics by Max Soelzer

Max Soelzer / Vocals and Back up Vocals / Guitar / Drums
Lucky Kelson / Hammond B 3 Organ / Piano / Percussion / Bass Guitar

Woke up early this morning
He came without a warning
The son came to set me free
He came for you and he came for me

Each and everyday of my life
Lord I thank you for your sacrifice
Come now father live in me
Holy Spirit set me free

Freedom
Freedom in the name of the Lord
I want to be free
Freedom in the name of the Lord

Holy holy holy
Is the Lord God almighty
Who was and is and is to come
You gave your only begotten Son

Each and everyday of my life
Lord I thank you for your sacrifice
Come now Father live in me
Holy Spirit set me free

Freedom
Freedom in the name of the Lord
Lord set me free
Song lyrics:

Hold on

Music and lyrics by Max Soelzer

Max Soelzer / Vocal
Lucky Kelson / Piano

The roads been long
With many trials along the way
Time has been a friend of mine
The winds of change blowing everyday
With every mountain I must climb

Hold on
Hold on
You must be strong
Hold on

Bearing my soul
For the world to see
To hear what I have to say
Times are drifting on a sea of insecurity
Changing day by day

Hold on
Hold on
You must be strong
Hold on

Tears that fade
Into the night
It’s hope that greets the morning light
Visions of splendor
That may fill my dreams
Awaken to find what it all means

Hold on
Hold on
You must be strong
Hold on

Song lyrics:

Make a change

Music and Lyrics by Max Soelzer

Max Soelzer Vocal / Guitar / Hammond B3 organ / Piano / Tambourine
Lucky Kelson / Drums / Bass Guitar
Sandy Spivey / Saxophone

Blue sky no chance of rain
Made it through the storm
And I’m not going back again
Times may be hard when the wind blows cold
Sometimes you got to reach down to your very soul

Can’t be doing the same old thing
Sometimes you’ve got to rearrange
And make a change…

Everyday the daily news
Don’t give me nothing but the same old sad blues
I know there’s got to be a better way
Got to put on my walkin shoes
I’ve got to start today

Can’t be doing the same old things
Sometimes you’ve got to rearrange
And make a change
You got to make a change

The sun is shining bright right down on me
I once was blind now I can see
Now there’s joy down in my heart
I’ve got to thank you Lord
For a brand new start

Can’t be doing the same old things
Sometimes you’ve got to rearrange
And make a change..

A better way

Music and lyrics by Max Soelzer

Max Soelzer / Guitar / Drums / Lead Vocal
Lucky Kelson / Piano / Hammond B3 organ / Bass Guitar
Louise Colley Jr. / Piano / Steel Guitar
Laura and Emily Mixon / Back up Vocals

On the table lies the Bible
I was looking for revival
For this heart of mine
So filled with broken dreams
With this old world so full of sorrow
I’m still hopeful for tomorrow
Counting my blessing each day
It’s not as bad as it seems

I found a better way to start livin
Less takin and more givin
With this light of mine I was blind
Now I can see
Don’t want to be pessimistic
I’ve become more optimistic
Finding out it’s really not all about me

I’m takin the high road of livin
Less takin and more givin
Getting of this highway that once
Was so full of tears
I was tired of all the confusion
Lord I need a strong solution
Now I’ve found a better way
After all these years
You know I have

Time has come to embrace the season of change
There is a time for everything
A time to love, a time to heal and to dance
For this reason I must sing

I found better way to start livin
Less takin and more given
With this light of mine I was blind
Now I can see
Don’t want to be pessimistic
I’ve become more optimistic
Finding out it’s really not all about me

I’ve found a better way

Soul Searchin

Music and lyrics by Max Soelzer

Max Soelzer / Vocal / Guitars
Lucky Kelson / Hammond B3 Organ / Bass Guitar / Percussion
Sandy Spivey / Saxophone

Movin to the beat of a different drum
What might work for many
May only work for some
I’m not looking for a new philosophy
That might work for you
But it won’t work for me

Soul searchin
I just can’t let it be
Soul searchin
What’s inside of me
Soul searchin
I’ve come to realize
Soul searchin
There is no compromise

Stained glass windows
Hiding the view from outside
Many times I’ve run
But never could I hide
Reflections of my world
No need to pretend
The hope that I desire
Must come from within

I’ve seen so much pain and misery
So much injustice
Greed and poverty
It seems to me the price is getting way too steep
Now the time has come
For me to dig way down deep

And do some soul searchin
I just can’t let it be
Soul searchin
What’s inside of me
Soul searchin
I’ve come to realize
Soul serachin
There is no compromise

Song lyrics:

I’m movin on

Music and lyrics by Max Soelzer

Max Soelzer / Vocal / Drums / Acoustic Guitar
Lucky Kelson / Hammond B3 Organ / Bass Guitar
Sandy Spivey / Saxophone
Laura and Emily Mixon / Back up Vocals

Hello old friend
How have you been
Yes I know it’s been a while
I thought of you the other day
And I sure do have to say
I miss your smile

Glad to hear your doing well
Some folks you just can’t tell
But I’m trying to keep it on the straight and narrow
Dodging life’s bows and arrows

But I’m movin on

No longer pleasing everyone I see
I’m finding out what’s best for me
Oh you’ve had that revelation too
How’s that working out for you

But I’m movin on

If you seek you shall find
But you can’t turn back the hands of time

I’m movin on

If I only knew then what I know now
Would it really matter anyhow

I’m movin on

Max, I saw you at Bayside Manor, last Friday. I bought your CD. I played it all afternoon and night and the next day and it is WOW! I have it on my computer and play and have played it on there. I will be one of favorites for a long time to come. My 2 favorites are I Believe and Freedom. The reason I like those two is that I like the more up-beat rock/jazz/blues. I like musicans like, David and the Giants, Love Song, Carman, Reba Rambo, Phil Keaggy, 2nd Chapter of Acts; to name a few. Now you know why I like those 2 songs. You may not know some of these people. If you don’t know David, Rayborn and Clayborn Huff of David and the Giants, I hope you get to meet them some day. Tell them that I refered them to you. They are my special friends. The words are great on the others. The Lord has given you some great songs. Keep on singing for the Lord and keep on being blessed. I am looking for you at my church. Remember? W and Marcus Pointe behind Smokey’s on Hwy 29. Oh yes one more thing. Do you have a sound tract to Freedom? I want a guy in my church to sing it. He plays the guitar and sings with a bluesy/jazz style. That would be great for him.

Hi Joyce, I don’t have the backing track currently, but that is not to say I won’t in the future for sure. Please feel free however to share this website and your appreciation of Soul Searchin with your family and friends! Thank you again Joyce for your wonderful comments regarding the music!
Hope to see you again soon!
      Max
