Ouroboros Telephone
THIRI acted as fitness selector and mutation engine while MusicAPI.ai covered each winning clip through three generations. The run gathered every public artifact from the loop: generation audio, stems, MIDI, WAV, artwork, and a full credit ledger.
THIRI + MusicAPI.ai
What was tested
The second run tested a closed evolutionary loop: generate, measure the returned harmony, select the fitter clip, mutate that measured harmony through THIRI, then ask MusicAPI.ai to cover the winner into the next generation.
The seed was a closed Coltrane major-third cycle: Cmaj7 | Eb7 | Abmaj7 | B7 | Emaj7 | G7 | Cmaj7 . Each generation returned two clips. Both clips were converted to MIDI, locally reduced into chords, scored against the current brief, and then the winning clip reproduced through cover_music .
The final lineage did not obey the original cycle at first. It settled into a desert-blues G-minor/C-minor world, then became more self-consistent every generation: fitness climbed from 0.5557 to 0.7438 to 0.9696 .
Playable outputs
Audio assets
Every public audio file from the experiment is playable below: six generation clips, four finale stems, and the final winner WAV.
Finale stem A
Vocals · b8e2e4eb
One of two vocals records returned by /sonic/stems/basic. The stem task again returned four succeeded records, not a fixed pair.
Finale stem C
Vocals · 8af7a2d9
Second vocals stem record from the final winner. Its lyrics preserve the amnesia accident: sparse mutation lines around mostly empty sections.
Finale stem D
Instrumental · 3143e129
Second instrumental stem record. The implementation lesson from experiment 1 was applied here: select by title before doing chord reduction.
Generated imagery
Visual assets
The public image set includes the generated album cover and the six MusicAPI.ai clip artworks from the three-generation lineage.
Symbolic layer
MIDI, ledger, and metadata
The run isolated every paid call: create_music and cover_music were 15 credits each, MIDI was 15 credits per clip, stems/basic was 15, WAV was 2, and aligned lyrics was 1.
The final instrumental stem measured 0.9902 against the previous generation's winner and 0.6098 against the original Coltrane seed cycle.
